There will be an African Gala on Saturday, July 26, at the Lansing Center, and the public is invited. African attire is optional. Barbara Roberts Mason, the conference planning chairman, wants to invite the Lansing area community by mailing personal invitations to homes. So, if you could email or US mail her a list or mailing labels of your members to include NAACP, all the Greek organizations, Jack and Jill, Les Meres et Debutantes, The Boule, CHUMS, The Forum, Lansing Area Genealogical Society, Negro and Professional Women’s Club, Links, Black Men Inc, the Black Nurses, Lawyers, Psychologists, Social Workers, Engineers, Accountants, School Educators groups, LCC Black Faculty, BASE, MSU Black Alumni, MSU Black F aculty, various ballroom and hustle dance organizations, and any other group that I cannot name. We still need alums who are in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math to volunteer to be a part of the forum panel to discuss their experiences in there fields with current students. The MSUBA encourages all alums in those fields to get involved or volunteer their time if possible for the forum.
